What Tom helps with

Protection and income, planned together

Each of these tools covers a different risk: dying too soon, needing care for years, or outliving your savings. Tom looks at all of them against your goals before recommending any one.

Life insurance

The right amount isn't a multiple of your salary. It's the sum of what your family would face without you: final expenses, an emergency cushion, the mortgage and other debt, education, and years of income replacement, minus the coverage you already have.

  • Term life covers the years your family depends on your income at the lowest cost. Buying it now locks in your health rating, and many term policies can later convert to permanent coverage.
  • Permanent life (whole and universal life) lasts for your lifetime and builds cash value you can access through policy loans or withdrawals.
  • Living benefits on many policies let you take part of the death benefit early after a critical, chronic or terminal illness.

VECTOR Hyperfund

Tom's flagship strategy: a specially designed indexed universal life policy that turns cash flow you already spend into a flexible, tax-advantaged asset you own.

Long-term care

Medicare covers at most 100 days of skilled nursing care after a qualifying hospital stay, and Medicaid pays only after your savings are spent down. A multi-year care need can drain a retirement plan and fall on your spouse or children.

  • Traditional long-term care insurance has lower upfront cost, but premiums can rise and unused benefits don't pass to heirs.
  • Hybrid policies built on life insurance or annuities have fixed premiums and pay unused value to beneficiaries. Some offer lifetime benefits.
  • Living benefit riders on life insurance can help with care costs after a chronic illness.

Health issues can disqualify you, so it pays to look at coverage in your 40s or 50s.

Annuities

An annuity is a contract with an insurance company that can turn savings into income for life, much like a personal pension. Tom uses them to cover essential expenses and as a buffer against market volatility in retirement.

  • Fixed annuities credit a declared interest rate.
  • Fixed indexed annuities credit interest linked to a market index, without direct exposure to market losses.
  • Income annuities start guaranteed payments now or at a later date you choose.
